Vegetable is the name given to parts of plants that are eaten by humans or other animals. Vegetables can mean different things across cultures and cuisines.
Although the terms fruit and vegetable are used in life, actually parts of the plant that are considered to be alive in the environment are used as vegetables in the kitchen. For example, vegetables such as eggplant, tomato, and zucchini are actually considered botanically as fruits such as plums, apricots and peaches.
